Announcement

Orbost Airport is approximately 6km southeast of the Marlo township, off Marlo Aerodrome Road.

It is 394km east of Melbourne and 211km southwest of Merimbula.

The airport was awarded ‘National Small Regional Aerodrome of the Year 2021’ by the Australian Airports Association.

Orbost Airport is a certified airport, conforming to regulatory standards published by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

Airside access is restricted to authorised personnel and is secured with 24/7 CCTV, which includes number plate recognition for incoming vehicles.

Orbost Airport has adopted the “No Drone Zone” policy with visible signage erected at various locations around the airports perimeter.

Drone operators wishing to fly drones in close proximity to the airport are encouraged to download the Open Sky App .

 The airport currently accommodates:

  • Emergency services such as Air Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police (VICPOL) Airwing and Aerial firefighting support
  • Local and visiting recreational flying
  • Charter flights
  • Angel Flight services

Orbost Airport pilot information – general

The airport has one code 1B runway designated 07/25. For detailed physical characteristics of the airport, please refer to ERSA.

Aircraft operators wishing to operate into Orbost Airport with aircraft exceeding the published PCN in ERSA, operators must complete the Orbost Airport Pavement Concession Form and contact our Aerodromes team with at least 48 hours’ notice to arrival in which one of the Aerodromes team will provide details on where to send the forms.

For aircraft parking, the Aerodromes Team (Jason Connelly or Douglas Sward, on (03) 5153 9500) must be contacted prior to arrival for parking instructions.

Aircraft parking areas are available at the airport on the main apron in front of the terminal for which the Aerodromes Team can provide instructions.

The apron is monitored by 24/7 CCTV.

Orbost Airport does not have landing or parking fees and does not have fuel available.
